Samn Johnson

Samn Johnson's (b. 1991, he/they) eclectic work for vocal, instrumental, and electronic forces integrates sounds from centuries of classical music with experimental pop and electronic music of our time. They often deal with mysticism and the past, as in their 2024 album Consolation setting Latin poetry by Boethius, on Innova Recordings.

Samn has degrees in composition from the University of Michigan and New York University, and lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They work as a private composition/music theory teacher and audio engineer, and are active on social media sharing content about their compositions and music education.
