Emerson Marshall

They/Them

Emerson Marshall is excited to be making their QTK debut portraying characters across the gender identity spectrum. While they have been in various theatrical productions throughout the years, many of those past roles felt unaligned with Em’s identities. However, more recently, they enjoyed being Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show at South Bend Civic, as well as Assistant Director for Cry It Out, also at SBCT. Notably, he has also played Olivia in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, along with having the incredible opportunity to work with the late actor and director Clarence Gilyard in a university production of Three Sisters. They enjoy - among many things - music, theatre, nature, tattoos, animals, thrifting, and collecting found treasures. This summer, Em volunteered for Youth Pride, and has tried to attend as many OutFront events and groups as possible with the energy and capacity they have to do so. Speaking of community involvement, huge shoutout to the Queer Chorus of Kalamazoo for being Marshall’s first big introduction to other musically interested queer folks in the area and for all the support from these new friends. QCK has been an important part of Em’s life for about a year now and he couldn’t be happier to be singing in a group again. Last but certainly not least, Emerson would like to express the deepest gratitude and love to family, especially their dad, for being the biggest current support system in their life. Lots of love, enjoy the shows! Don’t forget to take care of yourself <3
